Getting into the Zone or Flow State is every Gamer’s dream.
It is the most amazing state to be in, you’re in the moment, in the optimal state of consciousness, happy, content and time does not quite have the same meaning.
This is where you can be totally immersed in your Game.
Everything is working perfectly, your coordination, your thoughts, your reactions and focus to allow you to achieve a class performance. The good news is that with a bit of preparation and a few simple steps, it is possible to reach this state every time.
It makes complete sense to prepare yourself mentally and physically. A positive mindset for the task ahead is important, gearing yourself up for success.
Make sure that you are well hydrated (the brain is about 75% water) but not so much that you will need to leave to go to the toilet every 5 minutes!
Make sure that you are not hungry but not too full and bloated either. Nutrition is important and you should attempt to provide yourself with the best diet possible. What you eat really does have an impact on your brain function!
Avoiding fast foods and quick energy fixes is always a good idea. As a Gamer, you need sustainable energy and the best way to achieve that is to nourish your body with the best foods, lots of veg, greens, good quality protein, nuts, seeds, cooking your own food if you can!
You may want to consider a good quality Gaming supplement that can make up for what you are missing.
Any supplement that you choose should have the correct balance of ingredients. The ingredients need to be properly sourced and in a quantity sufficient to make to make a difference.
Here at God Gamer we provide a range of good quality supplements with everything for the Gamer.

Make sure that you have cleared all of your other tasks out of the way so that you don’t have residual thoughts about what you should be doing or what you are planning to do next.
Try to compartmentalise your time for your game.
You must make sure that the game is providing you with enough of a challenge.
If it is too easy, it is unlikely to capture your attention for long and it becomes all a bit boring but if you are in a game where you have to pay attention, you will be forced to concentrate.
Not too challenging either because too much of a challenge can cause you to become discouraged and lose your concentration, interest and focus.
Make sure that you have a quiet space free of distractions and surrounding noise or interruptions.
It might help to have a tidy space around you free from clutter which can in itself produce a number of distractions.
Do one thing only so your Gaming time is your Gaming time, no social media, emails or other screens. Turn off your notifications. Your focus has to be on the task of Gaming, nothing else, our brains can only process so much information before going into overload.
It is very easy to start to look for distractions as we are often not used to keeping our focus on one thing for a long time, we have developed a habit of multi tasking, checking our phones while flicking through multiple screens on our computer but practice will make perfect.
Comfort is also going to be important, your chair, position on the mouse, screen height and resolution etc. Your room should be not too warm but not too cold either.
Make sure that you are able to get good quality, uninterrupted sleep for at least 7 hours each night and more if you can manage. Poor sleep will decrease your ability to focus, your motivation and mental clarity.
Being in The Zone is one of the best and most productive places to be. Like everything, the more you practice, the better and quicker you will get to be there and stay there!
